Collection of Favorite Badger Basket Changing Tables
Badger Basket Company has been a premier manufacturer of bassinets, baskets , bassinet bedding, changing tables, doll furniture, toy boxes, hampers and more for infants, babies and children for over 70 years.
The company started out in 1911 as Edgar Veneer & Mfg. Company. It was a cheese box manufacture and veneer plant. Before long (in 1912), the plant was sold to Eugene and Albert Emy. By 1918 the Emy's had changed the company's name to Edgar Basket and Manufacturing Company and it began manufacturing veneer-covered, woven baskets.
The Emy's sold the company in 1939 and then bought it back in 1944. At that point they changed the name of the company to the Standard Container Company and used the name Badger Basket Company as a trade name.
Today the plant is owned by the Emy's daughter, Janet and it is known for it's large line of baskets, hampers and juvenile furniture (particularly changing tables and bassinets) and a line of over 40 doll furniture items.
They are still located in Edgar, Wisconsin. |
